In 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device really impressed clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, as the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into making telehandlers, stick booms, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Due to the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who had the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment should be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the benefits of a 48V DC machine.
As opposed to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These machinery are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These equipment deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the work site and job area.
