Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are big industrial machines designed with a straight boom arm that is extendable. The boom is usually situated on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are typically used for jobs which need tasks to be done at heights which exceed other kinds of lifts. For instance, employees can perform exterior repairs or renovations on medium sized buildings but utilizing these lifts instead of having the additional work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.
The boom lift is only designed to hold a single person. These buckets are better suitable to specific jobs like for instance electrical repair, rather than general maintenance or window washing. These lifts are offered with both outdoor and indoor tires and are available in gas or electric configurations.
Scissor Lifts
Under the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machine gets its name. When the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Since these types of equipment should be positioned directly under the work site, these units are way more limited in their use compared to boom lifts.
Scissor lifts do, on the other hand, provide larger platforms that allow the operator controlling the lift to access a larger work surface once the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these models, because they must sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are great for being used for cladding or window installation, since they provide the workers with the desired mobility; they are also a great option for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Boom trucks, bucket trucks and cherry pickers each refer to the class a type of utility vehicle utilized specially for vertical work. Usually, these kinds of trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and operates the equipment. There is a bucket for where the worker can stand along with an actuator arm for lifting the boom and a winch for lifting.
Boom trucks take employees to heights that would normally be inaccessible. The function of cranes is to lift heavy supplies or equipment from one place to another. There are various types of cranes which can perform a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of equipment excel at different jobs and are suitable for particular applications and finishing certain tasks.
