In order to be a successful unit, a lift truck needs to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for numerous hours of use. It must be able to transport loads effectively and quickly as well. The machine should be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator as well.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain requires the power to constantly offer great durability through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs along with extremely tough shafts and robust gears. The transmission, engine, drive and steer axle are all isolated to decrease both noise and vibration inside the compartment of the operator.
GM & Mazda LP & Gas Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine utilize cast iron blocks to promote long life. These types of machines offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that needs minimal adjustment or repair. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that lessen wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to better torque. Incredible fuel consumption is offered by effective fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on the majority of equipment. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts that give resistance when driving on rough environment. The strong clutch packs offer 3 times the life of previous packs. Last of all, there is available electronic inching which adjusts automatically so as to decrease maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which increases durability, extends tire life, and minimizes shock loading. Additionally, the auto deceleration feature lessens break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is engineered for extra durability with its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This particular component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are practically maintenance free and completely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from debris and damage. It has fixed-length tie rods to add extra durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. In addition, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and reduces wear.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included many safety features and ergonomic features. These types of machines would handle tough settings, while keeping the operator comfortable and safe for the duration of their shift.
