Aisle Types
Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machinery could turn in an aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into account with various models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet places, while several will use specific guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks include Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common kinds in tight retail areas and in some warehouse and storage situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks can work within aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Usually these are stand-up models like Reach Trucks. They are often used within warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up models offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is large and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The unit includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and thus more productive while limiting fatigue.
