What is the Distinction between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

Knowing the distinction between pneumatic tire forklifts and cushion tire forklifts is one of the most common questions about this type of machine. Each kind of tire is specifically suited for various requirements.

Pneumatic Tires have air inside of them, like vehicle tires. These tires are suitable for indoor use but they are more effective in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Utilized mainly for indoor operations, the cushion tires are designed just like a solid industrial tire. The tire would just be useful outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the equipment. These are called the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are specially made for steering. Traction tires located on the back of the forklift would simply wear out quicker. Hence, if you do have to work outdoors, having traction on the front and the smooth tires on the back would be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the difference between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?

When trying to know the main difference between the two tire types, it can be somewhat difficult. They both work in the same outdoor situations such as gravel, and asphalt. The main distinction between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot pop, gouge and puncture them because they are durable. These tires are more costly compared to air pneumatic tires since they are made up of way more rubber. These tires are best suited for locations like for example scrap yards and lumber yards where there may be lots of debris or sharp things on the ground.

Air pneumatic tires can be punctured accidentally. When this happens, you could get flat tires from them. Before utilizing a forklift with air pneumatic tires, inspect your work space and be sure that the yard is free of sharp metals, nails and scrap debris. In most applications, regular air pneumatic tires work really great.
