Emergency Eyewash Station
An emergency eyewash station must be situated close to the charging area. The path to the station must not be blocked and an employee who is injured should be able to go to the eyewash post from the charging area within 10 seconds without running.
Charger Safety
The battery and charger should be at the same amperage. It should be turned off while the battery is being plugged in.
Open Flames
When in the vicinity of a battery and charging area, open fire are not allowed. Do not allow objects like for instance matches or lighters to be utilized when someone is inspecting the battery fluid levels.
Ventilation
The battery charging are also needs to be well ventilated. The recharging process could release fumes. These gases are both toxic and explosive.
