Types of Boom Lifts or Construction Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of equipment that allows workers to carry out jobs without having to construct a scaffolding. They are utilized to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common machines found in warehouse and factory settings as well.

Boom lifts would usually provide wheeled and powered bases which can drive itself to the work location and have a platform on them to lift the personnel. There are a lot of various types of lifts and each one is suitable to different jobs and settings.

Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks, that are normally known as "cherry-pickers", carry a long boom which has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where an employee could stand. Commonly, bucket trucks are utilized by landscapers and by utility workers. Landscapers usually use these kinds of machinery to cut trees.

Each and every bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a standard truck, that allows these vehicles to move fast on regular roads. Furthermore, this increases the area that this machine could service effectively. This is particularly important for power companies. Like for instance, many of these companies utilize cherry pickers to elevate employees up so they could reach and work on transmission lines. The buckets need to be regularly inspected and well insulated since they are working close to possible shock hazards.

Articulated booms lifts or knuckle lifts have a work platform mounted to an arm that can bend and reach obstacles. The base of the lift contains a turntable and could turn the lift in a complete circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels as well for extra mobility.

Articulated boom lifts are utilized for landscaping projects and are useful for maintenance work on already-finished projects that do not require easy access to the area right below the jobsite. These lifts could be utilized for exterior electrical work and to repair piping, as well as areas which are hard to clean. Often knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the extended boom.
